So far there really is no need to. While he is raising lots of money, he has not garnered the poll or election result numbers that Dean did to show they need to do this.
But actually if you think about it they already have by simply ignoring him. Oh, and twisting his words to imply that he claimed the US was completely responsible for the 9/11 attacks.

I think Ron Paul = Dennis Kucinich is a much more apt analogy.
